Readings from the Bible in Church
May I, as a minority of one, put forward a further suggestion for consideration:- the PCC, in its wisdom, should decide on a default option, but that readers should be encouraged to choose whichever translation of the Bible they consider most suitable for each individual reading. (Most lay readers can be expected to have various versions, with others on the web).
This, I hope, would add to the meaning of readings for both readers and listeners - and might encourage some to be more adventurous and cast the net for their own Bible reading a bit wider.
LYMINGTON COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS
The Lymington Community Foundation
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude on behalf of the Lymington Community for the support that so many are now giving. In particular, for the Christmas Lights which are such a central part of Christmas and give such happiness to everyone in the community.
This year there were going to be no lights at all in Lymington, but thanks to an enormous effort from a few, including yourselves, there will be. In return we are ensuring that the whole Lymington Community are totally aware that your congregation and many others have helped. Through press, radio, TV, in the schools, congregations, associations and throughout the area, everyone will see just who does support the community. Also you will see just what can come back in return.
We are asking all of the Lymington Community to vote with their feet and actions to support each other directly by every means possible from a simple thank you, to ensuring that they show preference to purchase and support those who have helped the Lymington Community which can be seen by the Lymington Community Christmas logos on boards and windows of the sponsors.
We all hope that others, private and business, especially larger retailers who we are still waiting to hear from, will soon help, contribute and also see the significant benefit of supporting The Lymington Community. We need as many people as possible to simply ask..... please support the Lymington Community.
We have uploaded some of the pictures of those who have helped.
With all kind wishes and thanks from
The Lymington Community Team
